PrivateGP

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

privateGP is an online platform based in London and Bucharest, on which GPs from the EU and the UK can offer their services. The privateGP platform provides the infrastructure, however, the physicians offer their services on their own responsibility. The "privateGP" brand is also used by stationary physicians under license in order to benefit from the good reputation of this medical service.

Service and quality assurance[edit]

One of the main tasks of privateGP is to ensure that all physicians who wish to offer their services EU-wide or in the UK via the privateGP platform or in stationary practices have a level of competence that is aligned with Western and Northern European standards. In addition, privateGP supports physicians who are hesitant about offering telemedicine to do so in a well-managed way on privateGP. Likewise, stationary general practitioners in the EU and the UK can run their practice as an "island of trust" under the privateGP brand after a review of their expertise. This is because those who obtain a privateGP license (must be renewed every two years) benefit from the good reputation of the service.

History[edit]

Founded by the physicians Dr. David Moradi and Dr. Adrian Tudor, privateGP experienced a rapid growth. Due to this unexpected success of the platform, Dr. Tudor sold his 49.99% share to a silent partner from the EU. The active manager of the privateGP platform is Dr. David Moradi. The philosophy of privateGP includes not only the claim to accept only the best medical professionals, but also to make telemedicine more personal. The mission statement is the "good old family doctor" who now makes his house calls via phone, tablet, computer or TV screen.

Brexit effects[edit]

As a result of Brexit, privateGP has been split into an EU and a UK section. The administrative seat is still London, though this is not a problem as the doctors on the privateGP platform work independently anyway and 92% of them have a license to practice in one or more EU member state. This is of considerable importance, especially for the issuing of prescriptions and certificates.

Activation of patients[edit]

Like hardly any other telemedicine service, privateGP does everything in its power to strengthen trust in the medical profession, which has been shaken in many people by long waiting times and ultra short appointments in the modern healthcare system. This includes close cooperation with doctors at the place of residence as well as the regularly given advice to present oneself to a doctor at the place of residence at the latest 48 hours after a telemedical consultation - if the health problem persists or when the patient has been requested to do so. With this focus on the human being, his/her needs, and the orientation to the principle of "safety first", privateGP is fundamentally different from other providers.
