Biography

Bhargava was born in Aurangabad to an Indian family. She grew up in different states of India as her father was in the Indian army. She was diagnosed with an incurable, unpredictable autoimmune disease called SLE (Systemic lupus Erythematosus) at the age of 19 while she was studying physiotherapy. She had to discontinue her education due to the severity of the disease, which led her into a dormant state and later severe infections over her body parts. Partial recovery left her paraplegic for life after several surgeries. But that never deterred her from completing her education, and she finished her graduation and post-graduation by topping her regional centre. At present, she is a double postgraduate in computers and Psychology. While studying, she used to teach students and sell her paintings to fund her education.

In 2015, she won the title 'Miss Wheelchair India', a beauty pageant concerned with women on wheelchairs. She became a motivational speaker due to her achievements even after several limitations and a never-say-die spirit. She also wrote for some online portals like Popularium, Quora, Inclov, TheCompleteWomen, and co-authored the book 'Holding my Tears'. Her perseverance helped her to become the first Indian to represent India at the very first 'Miss Wheelchair World' Pageant in Poland in the year 2017. She is the first Indian woman on a wheelchair to be on the cover page of the literary magazine 'Tales & Tellers' as a cover girl. She has modelled for several organisations like Miss Wheelchair World, Swarga Foundation, Quint, Open Magazine etc.
