Quick Loadz Container Delivery System, LLC (commonly QuickLoadz, and QLz) is a mobile storage and transportation manufacturing company that designs, develops, and sells trailers and truck beds primarily intended for moving intermodal containers. Originally based in Nelsonville, Ohio, they are now located in Athens, Ohio.[1][2] The company's patented trailer technology aims to automate the process of loading and unloading intermodal containers. Using a system of chains built into the bed, containers can be pulled onto or pushed off of the bed without requiring user intervention.[3] This method also claims to reduce damage to the loading surface and cargo within the container, reduce cost, and increase efficiency.
History[edit]
Founder Sean Jones, while operating a mobile storage business, developed the product from his own need for an efficient system of moving loaded shipping containers.[2] In an interview, Jones described the early testing process, which required loading and unloading containers under various strenuous conditions for hours until some part was either broken or bent, followed by redesigning the parts and testing them again.[4] QuickLoadz trailers debuted at the 2013 National Portable Storage Association trade show, where they "generated tremendous interest" [1] over traditional methods of container transport, as its entirely automated operation "eliminates the hazardous, inefficient winches and cables integral to old-fashioned container moving systems."[5] The system was also described to show "great promise to revolutionize the industry".[6] In 2018, the company was one of ten to join the London Stock Exchange's ELITE program in their first expansion in the US.[7] In 2019, the company relocated from their facility in Nelsonville to an industrial park near The Plains, Ohio in order to expand production capacity.[8]
