Rajiv Raja (born 10 October 1971) is an Indian politician from Haryana and a member of Indian National Lok Dal party. He is currently serving under the leadership of Ch. Omprakash Chautala. Rajiv Raja is currently engaged in a struggle with Abhay Singh Chautala as a district chairman of the Kissan cell.[1]

Early life and education

Rajiv Raja was born in Hassangarh, Hisar, Haryana, on 10 October 1971 to Kher Singh and Kamla Devi. He is the grandson of Sher-Khan. His father was the regional head of the Indian National Lok Dal for 25 consecutive years and his grandfather was the director of District Co-operative Central Bank, Hisar. He belongs to the Jaat community.[2]

Rajiv Raja completed his initial schooling from Gurukul, Kumbha Khera, Hisar. He completed his B.A (Bachelor of Arts) and M.A (Master of Arts) from Deshbandhu College, Delhi.

Political career

Rajiv Raja has been active in politics since his college days. Rajiv Raja was the President of the Student’s Association of the College in 1993–1994 and the President of the Delhi University Student's Union (DUSU) in 1994–1995. In 2000, Rajiv Raja contested the Zilla Parishad election, Hisar.

In 2004, he contested for the post of Director of the District Co-operative Central Bank, Hisar. In 2005, he contested and lost the election for the position of MLA in the Legislative Assembly of Haryana as an Independent candidate from Barwala.[3] Again, Rajiv Raja contested the election for the position of MLA in the Legislative Assembly of Haryana as an Independent candidate from Barwala in 2009.[4][5][6]

Social Activities

Rajiv Raja is a donor, social worker, businessman, employee, and farmer throughout his political journey. Recently, he contributed 1 lakh rupees to the INLD Corona Relief Fund and contributed significantly to the education sector in 570 villages of the region and also provided sports equipment to athletes.[7][8][9]
