Regroup is the largest privately-held mass notification software provider.[2].
In response to 2020's novel coronavirus crisis, Regroup created COVID-19 map layers to help target efficient notification to communities.[3]. Regroup has also partnered with CivicPlus [4], and was shortlisted by FEMA as an IPAWS-compliant Common Alerting Protocol system.[5]
Regroup was started as CollegeWikis.com by students in 2006 at Stanford University, before closing a $2M round of venture capital in 2008.[6] In 2009, it rebranded to Regroup to focus on its Mass Notifications product, partnering with Datatel/Ellucian for its higher education solution. [7] [8] It was founded by Joe DiPasquale, who was named one of the most powerful LGBTQ+ people in tech by Business Insider in 2019. [9] [10]
Product features[edit]
Making an update on Regroup pushes the update to a number of different platforms at once. This allows group members to choose whether they want to stay updated via email, SMS, voice broadcasts, Facebook, Twitter, RSS, the organization's own website (through an embedded forum), or the Regroup feeds. Updates can be sent to any or all platforms depending on the person posting, and users can also set their preferred medium for receiving group messages.
