'Renaissance' is one of the most popular bands in Bangladesh which was formed in 1975.[1] Everyone in this band has been singing or playing musical instruments since their childhood.[2] Naquib Khan said- "At that time the tide of rock songs was flowing in the country. We wanted to get out of there and do something new. We had a great desire to sing Bangla songs with melodious, powerful lyrics."[3] Naquib Khan, the frontman, lead vocalist and keyboardist of the band[4], said, ‘Since we are all busy with jobs, we have to work on the album for a while. Other than that everyone in our band is very serious about the songs. We will never compromise on the quality of the songs.'[5][6] In a film titled ‘তোমার কষ্টের চিৎকারে জন্ম নিলাম আমি’(I was born with the cry of your pain), he sang a song directed by Iftekhar Fahim.[7] They took part in a studio concert hosted by ABC Radio in 2009 [8] Their fourth album, একুশ শতকে রেঁনেসা (21st Century's Renaissance) was awarded as ‘Best Band Album of the Year 2004’ by CityCell-Channel i Music Award.[9][10]
