Rise East Entertainment is an Indian film production company based in Chennai, India who has produced several films in predominately in Tamil apart from a Telugu film. Some of their notable movies include Nitham Oru Vaanam featuring Ashok Selvan and Ritu Varma. In 2024 they made Star featuring Kavin, Aaditi Pohankar and Preity Mukhundhan.
History
Rise East Entertainment produced Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari in 2019,[1] marking one of their early ventures into Tamil cinema. The film, directed by Chandru KR, starred Dheeraj and Pradaini Surva in lead roles.[2]
Following this, the company produced Anbulla Ghilli in 2020,[3] directed by Srinath Ramalingam.[4] The film featured Maithreya Rajashekar and Dushara Vijayan and was released in Direct Television Premiere on Colors Tamil. In 2022, they released Nitham Oru Vaanam, directed by Ra. Karthik, starring Ashok Selvan and Ritu Varma.[5] The film received positive reviews for its storytelling and performances.[6]
In 2024, produced Star, a Tamil film directed by Elan, featuring Kavin and Aaditi Pohankar.[7]
The production company has announced Love Marriage,[8] directed by Shanmuga Priyan and starring Vikram Prabhu in the lead role.[9]
Apart from theatrical releases, Rise East Entertainment ventured into streaming content. In 2022, they produced Paper Rocket, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi starring Kalidas Jayaram and Tanya Ravichandran.[10] The series was released on ZEE5. In 2024, they produced Balu Gani Talkies, directed by Viswanath Pratap, which was released on OTT .[11]
