Ritesh Agarwal is the founder of mobile hotel aggregator company OYO Rooms and became one of the youngest millionaires in India at age 22.[1] He is also a winner of the Thiel Fellowship.

He is the founder and CEO of hospitality business and app - Oyo Rooms - a network of 2,200 hotels operating in 154 cities in India - with monthly revenues of $3.5m and 1,600 employees.[citation needed] It has raised a total of $125 million of funding in four rounds from seven investors.[citation needed] Agarwal received the Business World Young Entrepreneur Award.[citation needed] He is a regular speaker at entrepreneurial conferences[which?] and institutes[which?] in India and abroad[citation needed], and a fellow of the Thiel foundation. Agarwal holds a high school diploma from St. Johns Senior Secondary School

Ritesh was born in Bissam Cuttack, a small town south of Odisha on 16 November 1993. He is a dropout, which made him eligible for the Peter Thiel fellowship for $100,000.[2]

Agarwal founded OYO Rooms in 2013, with a valuation of $5B within 5 years as of 2018.[3]

Awards and recognition[edit]

Agarwal is a Thiel fellow and was listed as a Forbes 30 under 30 in 2016.[4]
