Rox De Luca
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Rox De Luca (born 1963) is an Australian visual artist who makes sculptural objects and installations predominantly from found plastics.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
Rox De Luca was raised by Italian migrants in Moonee Ponds, Victoria. She attended the Canberra School of Art from 1981 to 1985.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
De Luca's "art practice converts found marine and industrial single-use plastics via jewellery-like processes in order to explore ideas of consumption, waste and our neglect of the environment around us."[2]
After art school the artist moved to Sydney. She painted on discarded aluminium printing plates using self portraiture and other subject matter including portraits of men.[3]
Her collaborative practice includes working with Western Australian painter Jo Darbyshire in several exhibitions.[4]
The artist collaborates with organisations such as: Clean Up Australia,[5] Plastic Free July and Plastic Free Biennale.[citation needed]
