History[edit]
2016[edit]
Rugged Maniac South Carolina 2016 was held in the Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona for the 6th annual time, since 2011.[1]
David Roberts and Regina Atkin won the male and female Elite Heats, respectively. Roberts beat the defending 2015 Arizona champion, Alec Fillmore, to become the new winner of Rugged Maniac in Phoenix Arizona.[2]
The course featured 25 obstacles over a length of 5 kilometers. Roughly 4,000 participants were at this event and over 1,000 spectators. Activities included live music, mechanical bull-riding, full-sized bounce houses, beer, and food in a large festival area at Boone Hall. Some of the spectator activities during the festival included beer stein hoisting, and pull-up competitions.[3]
Exhibition booths were onsite by local sponsors: Dude Wipes, Funds2Orgs, Phoenix Evolution, Knockout Fitness, Warrior Pak, Keystone Body Therapies, RawNRG, State Farm Insurance, Power Crunch, and HealthSource Phoenix.[4]
