SKADE (also SKADE GG) is a professional esports organization based in Norway.[1][2]. It was founded in September 2019[3][4] and has teams across a variety of online games including CS:GO, COD:MOBILE, PUBG and FIFA[5].
It first entered CS:GO when it formed a team of Bulgarian players who previously played for BPro Gaming[6].
The organization takes inspiration from Skade (or Skaði), a Norse goddess of winter, mountains, skiing and hunting[7].
Divisions[edit]
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)[edit]
SKADE entered the CS:GO competitive scene in September 2019 when it signed members from a Bulgarian esports organization BPro Gaming[8]. SKADE currently has two CS:GO rosters: SKADE X and SKADIES (inactive).
The Bulgarian roster, with which SKADE made its inroads into CS:GO, was disbanded on September 14, 2022. The CEO of SKADE, Morten Skaland, reasoned that the organization couldn't come to terms with the players to extend their contracts[9].
SKADE X[10][11][edit]
The roster was formed in 2022 after a collaboration between SKADE, Jotunheimen Esports and ULTI Skins to promote Norwegian esports in the world arena and also capture fans in Norway by participating in national competitions such as Telialigaen[12]. It is currently coached by Halvor 'vENdetta' Gulestøl[13].
