Sadas is an Italian multinational computer technology company headquartered in Milan (and registered office in Casalnuovo di Napoli).
History
Sadas was founded in 2013[1] as a spin-off of Gruppo AS’s technological department that includes Advanced Systems, a multinational computer technology corporation with 200 employees and €10 million of revenues.[2]
Advanced Systems, Software House mother company of the AS Group (including Advanced Systems, Sadas, SAIR, and Sadas UK) was founded in 1981 by Lucio Goglia (General Manager), to create a fully digital company based on data-centric architecture and develop new software and technologies. In 1990 he assumed the position of President of the CDA.[3]
Lucio Goglia died on 22 December 2017, at 75 years old and in memory of the founder, the AS Group has established, in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II, an annual award for the best degree thesis in computer science and computer engineering courses, concerning the DBMS. In addition to this award, the agreements with the University of Pisa, the Parthenope University of Naples, and the University of Naples Federico II for research activities, curricular internships, and seminars are also worth mentioning.[4][5]
Sadas has its overall headquarters in Milan and its registered office in Casalnuovo di Napoli. Sadas has subsidiaries in Rome, Paris, and Bath, Somerset and a virtual office in San Francisco.
Sadas is led by chief executive officer Roberto Goglia.[6]
Software
Sadas acquired relevance in the market of companies supplying technology to support companies, producing business intelligence solutions, data analysis, applications, and data warehouse tools, relying on owned technology. The company bases its value on Sadas Engine's proprietary technology, the result of investments in the company's research and development laboratories, and collaborations with Italian and international universities[7]
Sadas Engine is a database management systems[8][9][10][11] developed by a research project financed among others by Italian Minister of Education, University and Research (MIUR), in cooperation with University of Pisa and University of Sannio. Sadas Engine has been shown, in 2006, during the international conference “Extending Database Technology” (EDBT) di Munich.[12][13]
Sadas Engine is able to carry out searches on data over a period ever longer than 10 years, designed to store, manage and analyze huge quantities of data, and integrates with any data warehouse environment.[14]
Industrial sectors and development areas
Sadas operates in various markets including finance[15][16] and leasing [17][18], developing products related to several industrial areas (for instance business intelligence[19], anti-money laundering software[20], risk management[21] and big data[22]). The company is also an industrial partner with companies and associations as Assilea, Simmetrix, Assintel, Webtrekk, Marker Management Consulting, Assolombarda, and General Confederation of Italian Industry [23]
Awards and recognitions
A research carried out by Il Sole 24 Ore and Statista (statistics portal), rewarded Sadas as one of the 400 Italian companies with the highest turnover growth, both for 2019[24] and 2020[25]
