He was born to a blind mother and father on the 29th of November 1958 in Deir Yassin. Asylum and poverty forced his family, as well as other Palestinian families, to leave the village of Deir Yassin -Palestinian, and take refuge in the neighboring villages of Jerusalem. He lived in the old city of Jerusalem and he grew up in its alleys and sidewalks. He entered the contend of struggle life from a young age and suffered a lot from it, and he faced many challenges in preserving the identity of Jerusalem. His attachment to Jerusalem and its history and his keenness to record the names of its places through his publications and books. As he was keen to mention the names of the Jerusalem neighborhoods with their streets and buildings, and mentioned their history and symbolized them in one way or another through his narration and literary texts. Hoping that they would leave an imprint on the minds of readers and perpetuate Jerusalem. Cultural work[edit]

He founded Dar Al-Jundi as a cultural institution whose title is Jerusalem, and it is the only publishing house in Jerusalem. Founded to support Palestinian writers and authors. The idea of establishing the house came after the intellectuals of Jerusalem and Palestine reached a state of despair from the authorities concerned with adopting their works. The home's goal: To contribute to preserving the cultural identity of Jerusalem at a time when Jerusalemites are unable to preserve the land. Through this publishing house, Samir Al-Jundi sought to make Jerusalem the title of Palestinian culture, by spreading its name in the media, internationally, and in the Arab world through books published by the house and cultural events. Dar Al-Jundi also adopts publishing the works of creative writers and writers for whom it has not been published before. The house also exerts its efforts by adopting the works of the flags of Palestinian literature in Palestine and the Diaspora, believing that the immigrant pens must return, and the start of Palestinian thought from within Palestine must return.[2]
