) is a 1984 Indian Telugu-language romance film, produced by K. Shyamalamma under the Shyamala Films banner and directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.[1] It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Jaya Prada, with music composed by Ramesh Naidu.[2]
Plot
The film begins in a village where Gopi is an orphan with a god-given talent for music. Everyone in the village is affectionate towards him due to his amicable nature, and in turn, he treats them as his own. Once, at a wedding, the bride invites her music mentor Viswanatha Sastry along with her friend Radha (Jaya Prada), an awesome dancer. Gopi adores Radha and requests to participate in the music when she scolds him. Simultaneously, Viswanatha Sastry notices Gopi's art and appeals to him to join as his disciple, which he accepts to win Radha's heart. So, Gopi proceeds towards the city. Soon, he becomes a scholar with tenacity and dedication, and Radha also loves him. Meanwhile, Narasimha Sastry, a haughty scholar, always begrudges Viswanatha Sastry and trains his children Poorna Chandra and Malini to compete with his opponent’s disciples. Unfortunately, Gopi is ostracized from the institute for an offense he did not commit, and Radha also dislikes him, but later they realize his virtue. Now it's time for the cultural competitions in which Malini and Radha participate. Here, Narasimha Sastry cheats by harming the voice of Viswanatha Sastry. During that plight, Gopi guards his mentor's honor. Thereafter, Gopi & Radha make a world tour and triumph, while Narasimha Sastry humiliates Viswanatha Sastry. So, he decides to prepare Gopi for nationals to acquire the title of Sangeeta Samrat. But being aware that Gopi is completely immersed in Radha's love, Viswanatha Sastry asks Radha to distance herself from Gopi's life, which she does. Heartbroken, Gopi becomes a drunkard, which collapses Viswanatha Sastry. Therein, Gopi promises to establish his glory. During the time of competition, Gopi gets demotivated, but Radha arrives in time and helps him win. At last, Viswanatha Sastry also understands the divine relation of the couple, and even Narasimha Sastry pleads pardon from him. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Gopi & Radha.
