ScriptLogic Corporation was a software manufacturer of network administration products for Microsoft Windows-based networks. ScriptLogic's suite of desktop, server, and Active Directory management products allowed network administrators to remotely manage network-connected desktop PCs and servers to assure uniformity of network configuration and security measures. In 2005, ScriptLogic claimed a customer installed base of 15,700 and its 400 resellers.[1]

  • January 6, 2004 - ScriptLogic acquired Small Wonders Software, a privately held developer of software that focuses on the administration of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory(TM) in the enterprise.[2][3] Small Wonders' current product lineup includes Active Administrator, Enterprise Security Reporter, Secure Copy, Security Explorer and Service Explorer.
  • December 1, 2005 - ScriptLogic acquires MaSai Solutions, a privately held developer of application packaging software solutions, based in New Zealand, for an undisclosed amount.[4]
  • June 21, 2007 - Quest Software acquired ScriptLogic Corporation, keeping Scriptlogic as a wholly owned subsidiary allowing Scriptlogic to continue to develop and support its product line.[5]
  • November 12, 2007 - ScriptLogic purchased the assets of Mattus Inc. (d/b/a Kemma Software), a help desk software development company located near Pittsburgh, PA. This acquisition added a help desk software solution for the SMB market to ScriptLogic's product line.[6]
  • September 28, 2012 - Dell acquired Quest Software to form the Dell Software[7], and subsequently ScriptLogic.
  • November 1, 2016 - Francisco Partners and Elliot Management acquired Dell Software Group[8],which was re-launched as Quest Software.[9] ScriptLogic is currently part of the Quest portfolio. Today, Active Administrator is still a product. Enterprise Security Reporter (ESR) was EOL’d, but, was merged into Enterprise Reporter (ER). Secure Copy and Security Explorer are Quest product. Service Explorer was EOL’d and merged with Security Explorer.
