Shahzad Sarwar is a Lahore based Ph.D. Professor & Researcher scholar,[1] born in Tobatek Sing, Punjab, is a Principal Punjab University College of Information Technology,[2] (Public Sector University)[3] Lahore. He earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology from Vienna University Austria in 2008. He joined University of the Punjab in 2009 as Assistant Professor.

He was born in the district of Tobatek Sing and grew up in Lahore. He graduated from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila after completing BSc. Civil Engineering in 1998. He did MS Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2004 and went to Austria to do Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Vienna University. Earlier he joined University of Central Punjab (UCP) in 2004. After completing his Ph.D. in 2008 he was appointed as Assistant Professor in Punjab University College of Information Technology and in 2020 he was appointed as Principal[4] of the college.[5]
Research Fellow[edit]
Shahzad is University Research Fellow approved by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and supervising numbers of MPhil. Ph.D. students here in Punjab University[disambiguation needed] and abroad.[6] He presented and read hundreds research papers in the national and International Conferences on the topic of Internet of Things (IoT)M2M Communication High-[[Speed Internet Optical Burst Switched (OBS) Networks Performance M.[7]
Principal[edit]
Presently he is serving as Principal of Punjab University College of Information Technology. It is a college of computer science and information technology at the University of the Punjab located in Lahore, Pakistan. The college is located on the university's Allama Iqbal Campus (Old Campus) in Bahawalpur Block near old Anarkali and PUCIT Quaid-i-Azam Campus (New Campus) is located on Syed Kabeer Ali Shah road, Canal Bank, Lahore. PUCIT is one of the institutes of computer learning with its degree being awarded 'w' category (Highest) by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
