Deeply embedded in the cultural roots of Odisha, Sidharth TV Network is the pioneer of change in entertainment, be it music, movies, television or digital medium in India.[1]. Existing for 4 decades in the trade, the network offers a plethora of innovative premium entertainment content to the common Odia viewers. The network is owned by Sitaram Agrawalla and his wife Namita Agrawalla[2].
History
Sitaram Agrawalla has been a brand in the entertainment industry of Odisha for 4 decades. Established in 1983, he became Odisha’s first music company under the brand label JE, and in 1985 he formed an audio recording studio in Odisha named JE Studio[3].
In 1999, he founded the brand Sarthak with the launch of Sarthak Music for album releases.
The group launched its first TV channel, Sarthak TV, in 2010, which became the No. 1 GEC within 4 years. It was later sold to Zee Entertainment Enterprises in 2015 and rebranded as Zee Sarthak.
As a consequence of the deal with Zee, they discontinued the brand 'Sarthak' (for television only) and reintroduced themselves as 'Sidharth' in 2015.
In 2017, they launched 2 FM stations for Bhubaneswar & Rourkela cities, playing 100% Odia songs under the brand – 91.9 Sarthak FM.
In 2020, they received 4 TV Channel Licenses in the Non-News Category from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (India) and were preparing for a grand re-entry into the Odia television space.
On 15th May 2021, Sitaram Agrawalla & Namita Agrawalla, owners of Sidharth TV Network, launched two new TV channels: Sidharth TV, a General Entertainment Channel, and Sidharth Gold, for Music & Movies[4].
The network also runs a devotional TV channel Sidharth Bhakti since 1st April 2021[5].
The Network is also planning to launch one more channel, Sidharth Music, for Odia music lovers by the end of 2021[6]
