In 2018 it was announced that Rock on the Range would be replaced by Danny Wimmer Presents as the Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival,[2] it is currently held in Columbus, Ohio.[3] The inaugural festival was held in May 2019 with sold-out crowds of 120,000.[4] Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival is one of five major rock festivals produced by Danny Wimmer Presents in the United States, the others being Aftershock, Epicenter, Louder Than Life and Welcome to Rockville.[5]

In March 2020 it was announced that the festival would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but would return in 2021.[7]
