Starboy Entertainment, is an Nigerian record label founded in 2013 by Nigerian singer Wizkid.[1][2] Starboy Entertainment is home to many acclaimed artists, including Maleek Berry and L.A.X.[3][4]

Background[edit]

Wizkid started his own label after the success of his 2014 second studio album, Ayo.[5] In 2013, Wizkid founded Starboy Entertainment, following his exit from Empire Mates Entertainment.[6] On 18 April 2013, Maleek Berry joined the Starboy Entertainment as an in-house music producer,[7] three months after the release of "The Matter" by Maleek Berry, featuring Wizkid, under Starboy Entertainment, on 31 January 2013. On 20 August 2013, Wizkid signed L.A.X to Starboy Entertainment, as its first recording act.[8] Same day, Wizkid introduced L.A.X to the public, with the release of Caro by Starboy, featuring guess vocals from Wizkid, and L.A.X. On February 26, 2016, Wizkid signed DJ Tunez, as its in house-official DJ.[9]

On 9 May 2016, Wizkid signed R2Bees, Efya, and Mr Eazi, under Starboy flagship Starboy Worldwide.[10] On February 18, 2018, Wizkid signed Terri to Starboy.[11] On 21 February, Wizkid introduced Terri to the public, with the release of Soco by Starboy, featuring guess vocals from Terri, Spotless, Ceeza Milli, and Wizkid. On 2 May 2018, Wizkid appoints Jada P as head of Starboy.[12] Wizkid appointed Sunday Aare, as Manager of Starboy.[13]
