Suraj Chokhani (born December 3, 1979) is an Indian entrepreneur, social activist and a prominent figure from Kolkata, West Bengal. He runs businesses ranging from e-commerce to import and export. He has interest in equities and commodities. He owns a number of companies in and outside Kolkata.
Education
Suraj Chokhani completed his schooling from R. N. Singh Memorial High School, Kolkata and later done his higher studies from Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College affiliated with the University of Calcutta.
Career and Work
Suraj Chokhani is the son of Ramesh Kumar Chokhani[1] and is the director of Urban Merchantile Pvt Ltd Starting. Apart from his business he is also active in Indian Stock Exchange. He is a socially active person[2][3][4] associated with NGOs across the nation and fighting for various social causes[5][6] along with other members. He is one of the directors in Lions Club of Calcutta Kankurgachi[7] in Kolkata. Lions Club also organizes numerous social welfare activities.
A noble activity named as “Education for all” was started in 2017 under Mr. Chokhani and Club Secretary Lion Rajesh Dalmia.
He is the Chairperson of Anti-drug awareness section of Lions Club[8]. He even sometimes takes part in organizing political meetings[9]. Though, he is not a Bengali, he is fluent in Bengali, English, Hindi and Marwari.
Personal Life
Suraj Chokhani is happily married to Shweta Chokhani and is the father of two daughters, Urvi and Mahi.
