Surya Group is an International Textile Company founded in 1963 in Dubai, specialized in the supply of fabrics and garment accessories; the representative of Nickelodeon and Caterpillar Inc. brands with CEO - Ravi Navlani. Initial products included consumer electronics, watches, textiles and luxury goods. Over time they switched to textiles, accessories and fine fabrics. The group evolved into a luxury retail brand in the Middle East market. Today, the company has expanded activities to include distribution, retail, investments and real estate.[citation needed]

History[edit]

The history of the company began in 1963 in Dubai, when the Navlani's family opened a small office to supply apparel from India. By the end of the 1960s, Surya Group had 10 retail shops. In 1975, an office in Sharjah was opened. In 1980, Surya Group became the supplier of Japanese textiles. Later, in 1995, the company founded a new division - Surya Electronics in Dubai to distribute brands such as Braun, Samsung, Sony, Casio, Pioneer and others. In 2001, the company opened its first office in Moscow (Russia). Two years later, Surya took part in the Moscow textile exhibition «TextileLegProm», in the same year the company opened the department of accessories in Russian. In 2006, the second office in Moscow was opened. A year later, Surya Group began to invest in the real estate sector in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In 2008, an office in Shaoxing (China) was opened, and in 2011, in Minsk (Belarus), offices in all cities in 2017. We have no business. .[1][2][3]

Social activities[edit]

Surya Group participates in exhibitions and industry meetings. It continuously participates in the «TextileLegProm» federal fair in Moscow, Heimtextil in Frankfurt, CPM in Moscow and TEXWORLD in Paris.[4]

The company began supporting the Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (GSEA)in Russia in 2011.[5]

Recognition[edit]

On November 28, 2013, CEO of Surya Group received the «Success in Russia» award in the international «Entrepreneur of the year 2013» contest, organized by Ernst & Young Global Limited.[6]
