TV9 Network, popularly known as the Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCPL), is a pan-Indian news broadcasting company with a network of channels that mostly use the TV9 brand.[1] ABCPL is headquartered in Hyderabad, the capital of the Telugu-speaking state of Telangana.[2]In April 2020, the network was reportedly the number 1 news network in India in terms of viewership.[3][not in citation given]

History[edit]

TV9 was started in 2004 and is owned by Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCPL) which has seven television stations in different Indian languages. In August 2018, Alanda Media and Entertainment bought the majority stake in ABCPL.[4]

In July 2020, the company announced it was shutting down its English language television station to focus on a digital streaming model.[5]
