Taylor Swift as an opening act

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Swift opening for Brad Paisley in Pelham, Alabama

Prior to her debut Fearless Tour, American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift served as an opening act for various different country artists in support of her self-titled debut album.

Swift's first time touring was in 2006 with the Rascal Flatts' Me and My Gang Tour, which she was invited to following the firing of their previous opener. The following year, Swift opened for George Strait, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. In 2009, during the Fearless Tour, she briefly opened for Keith Urban.

Me and My Gang Tour[edit]

The Me and My Gang Tour was a concert tour by American country music band the Rascal Flatts. Swift was invited as an opening act via phone call two days before her first show.[1] She was chosen to replace Eric Church, who was fired for playing too long.[2] Church joked with Swift, saying that he should receive a copy of her first gold album in exchange for assisting in her fame. Swift accepted the request and gave him a copy four days later with the note "Thanks for playing too long and too loud on the Flatts tour. I sincerely appreciate it."[3]
