Tempus is a health technology company founded by Eric Lefkofsky in 2015 in Chicago, Illinois, after his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.[1] Tempus uses data mining and artificial intelligence techniques to create precision medicine solutions for oncology, cardiology, depression, and infectious disease.[2] Tempus sequences cancer patients’ DNA, gathers patients' clinical data, and provides tools to derive insights from the information.[3]
Locations
Tempus is headquartered in Chicago, with offices in New York and San Francisco. It has three accredited CLIA labs in Chicago, Atlanta, and Research Triangle Park.[4]
Financing
Tempus has raised around $1.05 billion. Investors include Baillie Gifford, New Enterprise Associates, Novo Holdings, Franklin Templeton, Revolution, Google, and funds and accounts managed by T. Rowe Price.
