Terry Stanfill is an American author,[1] art expert [2] and philanthropist.[3][4] She is the author of Realms of Gold: Ritual to Romance, Les Royaumes dorés, The Blood Remembers and Il richiamo del sangue.

Background[edit]

Born in West Haven, Connecticut she is a first generation Italian-American. Terry attended the University of Connecticut where she received a degree in English Literature with a minor in Medieval History. In the wake of the 1966 Venice flood Terry helped found and subsequently chair the Los Angeles Committee of the International Fund for Monuments, now the World Monuments Fund raising sufficient funds to restore the ancient cathedral of San Pietro di Castello, Venice. For her efforts, Terry was decorated by the president of Italy with the Ordine al Merito, Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana, and more recently as Commendatore.[5] She has been a Save Venice Inc. [6][7][8][9] board member since 1979. Terry served as a director [10] of the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, CA before joining Christie’s as an international representative [11] She is an overseer emerita of The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens [12] and a founding member and Life Trustee of the Los Angeles Opera.[13][14]

Personal[edit]

Terry nee Olivieri is married to Dennis Carothers Stanfill former CEO of Twentieth Century Fox, and MGM.[15] Their daughter, Francesca Stanfill Nye, is a novelist and journalist. Their son, Dennis, is partner and managing director of HBDesign, Singapore. Their late daughter, Michaela Sara Stanfill, was a historical researcher in Boston. The Stanfills have two grandchildren, Serena Tufo Robinson and Peter Stanfill Tufo.[16]
