About The story[edit]

This story talks about the Palestinians' attachment to waiting on the heavenly miracle to release them of the injustice and hunger they are subjected to. The story begins with the people of the village attached to the tomb of a ruler named Abd al-Ati, who they thought was distinguished by the presence of a human head hanging on a tree near it.[3] They preferred to visit him, thinking that he was the head of a guardian. Until a blind man who works in a bakery and another deaf man who works in a distribution center decided to check the tomb out. Finding the funny surprise that this head is a fungus that grew on a tree and looked like a deformed head. Here the writer explained how these two, despite their condition, were able to reveal that waiting has no benefit and that it is a short illusion rope that one feels lightly after being cut. He linked this waiting and illusion to the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians.[4]
