The Land Party (LAND) is a South African far-left political party. Founded by Gcobani Ndzongana in 2018 after his community in Zwelihle, Hermanus, South Africa asked him to create a political home for them. [1] Ndzogana is the Chief Leader of the Land Party.
The LAND PARTY is the humanistic vanguard of the people of South Africa, the poor, working class, and the most destitute, regardless of race, religion, creed, or culture. The Party will lead the people in carrying out socialist transformation with distinct African characteristics, completing the transition from New Democracy to socialism, establishing the basic socialist system, and developing a socialist economy, politics, and culture. The Party’s highest ideal and ultimate goal is the realisation of communism.
The Land Party is registered with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) as a political party and is contesting the 2019 general election. It currently has 200,000 members.
