Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India Limited (MSE) is a stock exchange regulated by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The Exchange was notified of a "recognized stock exchange" under Section 2(39) of the Companies Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India, on December 21, 2012. The exchange's shareholders are some of India's top public sector banks, private sector banks, and domestic financial institutions.

Mr. Dinesh Chander Patwari, erstwhile Principle Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Karnataka and Goa region in Bengaluru, and a retired Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 1986 batch, currently a mentor to a social impact venture- OUT India (Organising the Unorganised India) which is doing an excellent work in connecting workers to jobs, skills, credit and providing community to underprivileged, is Chairman (Public Interest Director) on the Board.

Latika Kundu is a widely acknowledged industry expert in setting up, launching & managing Exchanges, Clearing Houses & Depositories across all asset classes & products. With over 25 years of professional experience across leading global multi-asset exchanges & global investment banks - National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), Lehman Brothers, MCX Stock Exchange (now MSE), Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX), Macquarie Singapore, Singapore Diamond Investment Exchange (SDiX).

Currency Futures & Options[2]

• MSE Exchange launched its currency futures trading platform on October 07, 2008.

Currency futures on USD-INR were introduced for trading and subsequently the Indian rupee was allowed to trade against other currencies such as euro, pound sterling and the Japanese yen.

Currently Currency Futures and Options are available on four currency pairs viz. US Dollars (USD-INR), Euro (EUR-INR), Great Britain Pound (GBP-INR) and Japanese Yen (JPY-INR). Cross currency Futures and Options are available on three currency pairs viz. EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY.

Interest Rate Futures[3]

• An interest rate futures is a financial derivative. The underlying asset for interest rate futures is an interest bearing instrument.

It is a standardized agreement to buy or sell certain quantity of a given underlying on a specified future date at a set price.

Interest Rate futures are mainly used to hedge against the risk of adverse movement in interest rates. Examples of Interest rate futures are 91-day Treasury Bill Futures, 10-Year Government of India Bond Futures.

Equity Derivatives[5]

• A security whose price is dependent upon or derived from one or more underlying assets. The derivative itself is merely a contract between two or more parties. Its value is determined by fluctuations in the underlying asset. There are several different types of equity derivative including options, warrants, futures, forwards, convertible bonds, and swaps. Each has its advantages, and each is often used in a particular situation. However, Futures & Options are the most common types of Equity derivatives.

MSE launched Capital Market Segment, Futures and Options Segment and flagship index SX40 on February 9, 2013, and commenced trading from February 11, 2013.
