History[edit]

The United States first competed in the IMO in East Germany in 1974, in the middle of a diplomatic crisis.[6] That year, U.S. got first position.[7] In 2015, U.S. got first.[8]

The United States has hosted the event in 1981[9] and 2001.[10]

Selection process[edit]

The country organizes a country test to select the 6 students who compete in the Olympiad.
