Algeria began to participate at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1977,[1] and has competed since then.[2]

History[edit]

The Ministère de l'Éducation nationale Algérie is the responsible of the Mathematical Olympiad in Algeria.[3][4][5] Somehow this is a try made by Government of Algeria to improve mathematical education.[6] The selection process is made at the Olympiade Mathématiques Algérie.[7]

Algeria has 2 silver medals, 5 bronze medals and 13 honourable mentions.
