Uparika Sharma (born December 28, 1982) is an American dentist based in Bellevue, Washington[1] In 2019, Sharma was recognized as America’s "Best Dentists" by the National Consumer Advisory Board.[2] She is the first dentist of Indian origin to receive the "Best Dentist" award by 425 Magazine in 2019.[3]
Early life and education
Sharma was born in India on December 28, 1982, and grew up in Northern India, where she received a degree in dental surgery. After practicing as a dentist, she pursued two years of postgraduate education in Patient care & Hospital management. Thereafter, she relocated to United States and was selected into an advanced standing doctor of dental surgery program at University of Washington. She was one of six candidates selected for this program based on worldwide applications. She received her doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Washington.
Career
Currently, Sharma is working as head dentist at Bellevue Azalea Dentistry in Washington state.[4] In addition to general and cosmetic dentistry, she has advanced training in treating Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. She has also been working with ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) doctors & chiropractors to treat TMJ disorders.[5]
