Vanjiamman Temple
Arulmigu Vanjiamman kovil/Temple[1] is located at Mulanur, Dharapuram, Tiruppur district, Tamil Nadu, India. This temple belongs to Konguvellala Gounder Poosan, Cheran/Cheralan and Konguchettiar kulathaivam. The Goddess residing here is Vanji Amman[2][1][3][4]. It is regarded by a group of Kongu Vellala Gounders (Poosan and Cheralan) as their family deity. History reveals that Vanji Amman was the deity of the Chera Kings.
Location
Mulanur is located on SH21, which runs between Dharapuram and Karur. It is in Tirupur district, which was separated from Erode district in 2009. Drumsticks from the Mulanur region are famous. The vegetable and grocery market opens up every Wednesday in the west end of the town (Anna nagar). Mulanur is the only place which has the Glori lily (Gloriosa superba) market.
Therottam
The temple car festival is famous here, which happens once in 12 years.[5]
Trains
Trains are available for Mulanur from Thiruppur and Palani.[6]
