Vishwas Patel

Vishwas Patel is the Chairman of the Payments Council of India.[1][2] As the founder of one of India's early payment gateways, CCAvenue, he is an advocate for sustainable payment policies in India and has strongly lobbied against the removal of MDR on online transactions (UPI and debit cards).[3] [4]

Patel is a lawyer and has practiced in the Mumbai High Court. .Vishwas was a member of the RBI committee on analysis of QR (Quick Response) code that provided recommendations on the matter to the central bank along with a roadmap for implementation.[5]
