Bianca Alexandra Lixandru (born May 10, 2002) [1] known professionally as Bibi is a Romanian singer, songwriter and influencer known for her work as a vlogger for Youtube, mostly regarded as the "Romanian Teen Idol" or "copycat". [2]. She rose to prominence with the release of the single "Chocolate" through Roton Music, one of the most famous labels in the Romanian music industry.
Bibi began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release of the song "Radio Song" in 2014, and the Tommo Production[3] team discovered her as a solo artist. She then released the song "My Life", and in 2016 the hit "Chocolate", which reached number 1 for three weeks on Youtube with more than 44 million views, and was also present in the Romanian Top 100. Also, in 2019 Bibi was chosen by Disney Enterprises and Disney Character Voices International to provide the Romanian voice of Shank in the animated Disney film Ralph Breaks the Internet.[5]
Early life
Bibi was born in Bucharest, Romania,[6]. For most of her early life, Bibi was born and raised in Bucharest, and she attended Kindergarten 246 from District 6 (Bucharest), then she graduated from School Nr. 17 in the same town. Lixandru was helped to make her first steps in the music world by her teacher Ioniţă Mihaela Violeta.
Career
2008–2016: Television debut and career beginnings
Bibi’s debut came in 2006, when Romanian national television producer Titus Munteanu, invited her to host the TV program "Hora Prichindeilor" broadcast on TVR2 during 2008–2011. She was then a co-presenter on TVR Moldova for the television show "Fairytales for Kids". From 2009–2011 she presented "Ghiozdanul cu suprize", also a television format for children.
After finishing her television career, Marius Ţeicu, a well-known Romanian singer and composer from the Gold Era, noticed her. She signed with Tommo Production, and released her first single "Radio Song" in 2014 [7], and the video premiere of the song was aired on Antena 1 on the morning show "Neatza with Răzvan and Dani",[8].
2016–present: Roton label, vlogging and new challenges
On April 17, 2015, "My Life", her first single from the new label Roton, leaked online.[9][10][11] Bibi recorded "Coji de Portocale", a single produced by Pink Elephant, that is a pop and also a soul track. [12]
In the summer of 2016, Bibi prepared one of her most emotional songs from her recent career, named "Chocolate", which reached number 1 for three weeks on Youtube. The singer described the song: "We all fulfilled our lives in these lyrics, because we all feel love thrills for the first time".[13] She also sang the song on some Romanian televisions, such as Antena 1, through the show "Friends from 11:00.[14]
The artist promoted her songs through concerts in Romania, alongside other Romanian teen pop stars, such as Nicole Cherry, Andra Gogan and Iuliana Beregoi.[15]
The Romanian media (television and press) named Bianca Alexandra Lixandru, known mononymously as Bibi, as the second Nicole Cherry and one of the best singer-songwriters from the new generation in Romania, who was also launched by Tommo Production.[16]
In 2017, she began a new and interesting passion, by becoming an influential vlogger in the online business[17]. Her work as a vlogger [18] combines domains such as music, teenager life, school, teenager games and the impact of social media for the new generation. With more than 56 million views on her Youtube channel[19], 449,000 subscribers, 318,000 followers on Instagram, and on other social media platforms, Bibi is known as one of the best celebrities from online television, alongside Shelly and Tequila, also famous vloggers from Romania. Artistry
Bibi is mainly a pop and pop dance singer, influenced by American music.[23] She incorporated elements of reggaeton, hip hop and dance in her first single. Growing up, Bibi listened to artists such as Beyonce, Madonna. [24] She has also cited Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Ariana Grande as influences from the new generation.[25][26]

Among her 74 awards, Bibi won Gala Star Melody (2013), the Grand Prize "Winter Stars" (2013), My Song Contest (Antena 2) on Răi da buni TV show, TVR Iaşi prize, The First Place on Golden Stag Junior (2010).[27]
Personal life
Bibi is in a relationship with Tony, whom she met on the set of a new vlog in June 2018. They have been dating since July 2018.[28][29]
