Wong Amat Tower, commonly referred to as Wongamat Tower or W-Tower, stands tall as an emblematic skyscraper, designed by Mario Kleff.[1][2][3] Located in Pattaya, Thailand, the Wong Amat Tower is not only an epitome of architectural finesse but also signifies the evolution of modern high-rise structures in one of Pattaya's most premium locations.

Overview[edit]

The Wongamat Tower, developed by Heights Holdings Co Ltd, boasts 38 stories and comprises 361 units. The building was topped out in January 2014 and completed in 2015.[4] Standing at 148 meters (486 ft), it was ranked by CTBUH as one of the twenty tallest residential buildings in Pattaya in 2021.[5]

Design and Significance[edit]

The first draft for the Wongamat Tower was based on a steel frame structure and cellular beam. The design was later converted into a reinforced concrete structure and post-tensioned floor slabs to ensure the building's safety.[6] The building's design and construction technology enabled wider, floor-to-ceiling glass panes, giving it a transparent appearance. In addition to the 13-meter-high glass-clad lobby, there is a rooftop swimming pool and terrace for unobstructed views of Pattaya and Pattaya Bay.[7]

A computer-generated image of the lobby shows a steel frame and cellular beam visible in the background.

Construction[edit]

In July 2009, Laguna Long Beach Height Two, represented by its authorized director Haim Bar-David, and Wandee Real Estate & Services, represented by its authorized director Nittaya Wongsin, signed an agreement to construct and supervise the construction of the 38-story Wongamat Tower.[8] However, this construction agreement was later terminated. Subsequently, the building was finally constructed by Lock-BUILD Group. Wandeegroup (Thailand) is responsible for the construction of the Showroom Wongamat Tower.[9]

Showroom[edit]

Mario Kleff designed a 27m high showroom for the Wongamat Tower to provide visitors with an authentic sense of the tower's opulence and architecture. This showroom not only offers a tangible experience of the sea views and lifestyle associated with the Wongamat Tower but also accurately represents the specific location and elevation of two units.[10]
