Ziad Moustafa "Zizo" (Arabic: زياد محمد ابراهيم مصطفي; born 2 September 1995) is an Egyptian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Latvian side, Mārupes SC [1]. Born in Cairo, Egypt, Ziad is eligible to represent Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine internationally.
Club career
Ziad suffered a knee injury in 2018 that kept him away from football action for two seasons; however, after recovering from his injury, he was once again scouted, this time by AFA Olaine, one of Latvia's most popular teams. Ziad played for AFA Olaine[2] for a season and a half, before securing a transfer to their rivals, Mārupes SC[3] in 2021.
International career
Although born in Egypt, Ziad was included in the Palestinian preliminary 35-man squad for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers in 2013.
Personal life
Moustafa's eligibility to represent Lebanon and Palestine comes from his mother. He was born to an Egyptian father and a Lebanese mother who has Palestinian and Turkish origins.
Aside from football, Ziad holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is an entrepreneur with several businesses under his name and is considered one of the most well-known Arabs in Latvia[4]. Ziad is a polyglot; he speaks Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Russian and Latvian.
