The series premiered on 26 July 2021[13] replacing Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani.[14][15]
Plot[edit]
The plot explores struggles of single motherhood in society and relations.
The story opens with featuring the fun middle-class Sakhuja Family. A year ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sakhujas' lost their eldest son, Karan Sakhuja, who was a health-warrior who served India. Amrita is Karan's widow who is presently carrying his baby. While the Sakhujas are going through a phase of grief, Amrita hides her sadness and tries to always lighten up the mood. To bring back happiness into the Sakhujas' lives, Amrita suggests that the family must proceed with Angad, Amrita's brother-in-law's marriage with his girlfriend Meera Sehgal. On the other hand, Amrita's second brother-in-law, Kabeer is a fun, jovial person who loves his family and who lives life without thinking about what come's next. His parents, Guneet and Nimmo consider him a nuisance in the house, due to his naughty and childish attitude. Amrita's sister-in-law, Soniya is a young, loving girl, who was very attavhed to her late brother. While everyone in the family believes Angad is working and earning for the family, the former has actually been fired from his job and has been lying to the family about it. Angad also begins inertly feeling that marrying Meera currently will be a huge mistake, especially as he simply has no fund to fulfill Meera's requirements as a wife. Meera's family comes from a very rich background and her father, Krishnakant Sehgal, is a rich business-man who sells sanitizers. He is an arrogant man who feels money is everything, which is why he tries to stop Meera's marriage with a middle-class family like the Sakhujas. Few days later, Kabeer's birthday arrives and Nimmo behaves slightly rude towards him calling him jobless and useless in the family. However, Kabeer's grandparents, Santo and Sukhbir defend him and berate Nimmo for being rude to him on his special day. Later, Kabeer's uncle, Baljeet and aunt Pammy and Meera come to the Sakhuja Mansion and together, they celebrate his birthday. Nimmo too apologises but tells him to mend his ways now itself.
One day, while scrolling through a matrimonial site, Kabeer finds Meera's name there and tells Sukhbir, Santo and Amrita, giving them a shocker. They tell him not to tell anyone and especially not Nimmo who will fume in rage when she learns the truth, especially as she has suspected Krishnakant's behaviour earlier too. However, Nimmo and Guneet somehow learn the truth and they fume in rage. Fuming, Guneet and Nimmo go to the Sehgal Mansion and confront Krishnakant. Beating around the bush, Krishnakant indirectly insults the Sakhujas again and again which causes Guneet to lose his cool and eventually, he slaps Krishnakant. At that moment, Shabana Aapa and Meera enter the mansion and see the situation. Cunningly, once Guneet and Nimmo leave, Krishnakant twists the truth and tells Meera that they came to ask for dowry and when Krishnakant rejected them, he got slapped. Gullible, Meera believes her father and goes to the Sakhujas' to confront them. When she reaches there, she speaks rudely and screams at the family. She also reveals Angad's truth of not having a job to the family, giving them a huge shocker. While Amrita attempts to calm her down, she fumes and breaks all ties with the family, questioning them on how they can request for dowry. Kabeer and the rest try to tell her that Krishnakant is lying, but in vain. After she leaves, Nimmo screams at Angad for hiding the truth of his job, however, Amrita understands him and tells him that it's absolutely fine as he hid it only for the sake of the family's happiness.
