The 2021–22 season is Chesterfield's 155th year in their history and fourth consecutive season in National League. Along with the league, the club will also compete in the FA Cup and the 2021–22 FA Trophy.
Pre-season friendlies[edit]
The Spireites announced they would have friendlies against Alfreton Town,[1] Matlock Town,[1] Bradford City,[2] Port Vale,[3] Aston Villa U23s,[4] Tamworth[4] and Grimsby Town[5] as part of their pre-season preparations.
