AUDT (Australian dollar token) is a stable[1] token[2] that retains a peg of one to one to the Australian dollar. It is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum blockchain that was developed and is maintained by AUDT Pty Ltd [3][4] with an AUSTRAC:100628215 and ASIC registration[5] as a digital currency exchange.
It was developed in 2018 and was first listed for trading on a cryptocurrency exchange based in Australia in an attempt to allow and simplify AUD currency denomination in DeFi and to allow AUD denominated interactions in the global crypto economy and trading.[6]
Details[edit]
As of June 2021, it has a fully diluted market capitalization of $750 million[7] and a daily volume of around 8 million dollars, according to Coinmarketcap.
Also, it is a non-algorithmic stable token that claims that its issue is guaranteed by a bank deposit in an Australian bank.[8] The audits of the bank deposits were performed by Crowe Australasia accountants and auditors. The latest report on the website is dated June 2020.[9]
The global company that ruled the process is Chrono.tech[10][11][12] The CEO of the company today is Sergei Sergienko.[13][14][15]
