Abd al-Ali Wadghiri (/wadghīrī/; Arabic: عبد العلي الودغيري ; born January 20, 1944) is a Moroccan academic, writer, and linguist born in Fes, Morocco.
Life and Career[edit]
He studied in Fes, Rabat, and Paris, and received the Licence D'études Fondamentales (License in Fundamental Studies: Arabic Studies) in 1976, and a state Ph.D. in Arabic Language and Literature in 1986. He pursued his postgraduate studies at Sorbonne University in Paris, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Fes, and Mohammed V University in Rabat. He was a professor in secondary and university education at the Colleges of Art in Fes and Rabat, in addition to being a consultant to the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Communication and a writer for the National Cultural Committee. Former member of Moroccan Writers Union and founding member of Moroccan Linguistic Union. He issued “The Stance” magazine and managed it since 1987. He officiated as the head of the World Islamic University in Niger from 1994 to 2005, and director of the Allal al-Fasi Institute in Rabat from 2006 to 2008.[1][2]
