Ajimele Community is an indigenous Itsekiri urban community in Warri Kingdom. Ajimele Community was founded by Imele, a very wealthy Itsekiri merchant who traded palm oil. It is located in Sapele Local Government Area of present-day Delta State, Nigeria.[1][2]
Families
Some of the very popular families that are from Ajimele Community include the Iya descendants, Orieke Brownridge, Onemokpe and Agbude families.
Community Resources
Ajimele Community is known widely for producing one of the best palm oil products in the world named Ekpo-Ajimele. Right from the days of the pre and post-colonial masters, Ajimele has always been known for producing the best palm oil in West Africa. There are European records as ancient as the 1800s attesting to the superiority of the Ajimele natural palm oil you can trust.

Cultural Festival
Like other Itsekiri communities, Ajimele Community is known widely for their very elaborate culture.
- One of the popular festivals in the community is the Oliyo masquerade dance which is danced by only the male indigenes of the community.
- Another popular festival is the Umale-Awaran festival which holds around August.
Governance
Ajimele Community has a governance structure that mirrors most other Itsekiri communities. The Olu of Warri is the overall head of the communities. This is followed by a council of elders, a community trust and a youth body.
