Anindya Novyan Bakrie (born 10 November, 1974) usually called as Anindya, is an Indonesian businessman and chairman of PRSI (Indonesia Swimming Federation). Anindya Bakrie is the eldest son of businessman-turned-politician Aburizal Bakrie and Tatty Bakrie. With his rising business profile Anin seems to be growing into his role as the Bakrie Group ranking scion. He follows the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Achmad Bakrie in becoming a businessman. Anin are married to Firdani Saugi and have three children: Alisha Anastasia Bakrie, Azra Fadilla Bakrie, and Akila Abunundya Bakrie[1].

Career[edit]

Business[edit]

Anindya is a shareholder of Oxford United F.C. after purchasing the club together with Erick Tohir. Oxford United F.C. is currently owned by a consortium comprised of Anindya and Erick Tohir from Indonesia and Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth, an entrepreneur from Thailand. [4].

Anindya Bakrie claimed to have never thought he wanted to be a businessman like his grandfather and father. Upon his graduation from Stanford Graduate School of Business, he worked at Salomon Brothers.[5] Upon his return to Indonesia after the 1997 Asian financial crisis, he attempted to save Bakrie Group company which was threatened to bankrupt. Starting in 2002 he sent a restructuring proposal to more than 200 creditors and persuaded them to convert their debt into equity. By 2004 he had cut the debt to zero, although it meant cutting the Bakries’ stake from 60% to 21%. He also made content adjustments, changing the mix from generic me-too programming to a focus on family-friendly fare such as quiz shows, children’s shows and soccer matches. In 2005 Anin persuaded media mogul Rupert Murdoch to buy 20% of ANTV for $20 million. In 2007 he bought a second TV station, Lativi Media Karya, from businessman and former labor minister Abdul Latief after it became debt-ridden and embroiled in controversy. The station was renamed TV One and repositioned to focus on news for middle-class viewers.[6]
