Ben O. Adoo is a Ghanaian mining executive. He previously served as the president of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.[1][2]
Education
Adoo received an Associateship of the Camborne School of Mines in 1971. In 1987, he earned a Master of Engineering degree in Mineral Economics and Production Management from McGill University in Canada. He is a Chartered engineer and a member of both the British Institute of Engineers and the Ghanaian Institute of Engineers[3]
Career
He began his career by serving as the general manager of Prestea, Tarkwa and Dunkwa Goldfields.[4] He later became the managing director of Ghana Bauxite Company Ltd., a subsidiary of Alcan Inc., where he led operations for five years.[5] In 2004, Adoo joined African Gold Group (AGG) as the managing director for Ghana operations[6] He later held the position of chief executive officer at Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd.[7][8]
From May 1998 to December 2000, Adoo served as the President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.[9]
Honors and recognitions
In September 2004, he was made an Honorary Member of the Ghana Chamber of Mines Council[10]
