Chithra Ramakrishnan is an Indian-born vocalist and Bharatanatyam dancer, currently residing in Birmingham, UK. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. Ramakrishnan has founded ShruthiUK, a Solihull-based non-profit South Asian arts and culture organisation. She pioneered the British Carnatic Choir - the first of its kind in the country.[1][2][3] She also organises the annual World Music Conference event which she co-founded in November 2017.[4]

Ramakrishnan has also been the host of talk show Chat With Chithra, where she has interviewed prominent personalities that include Dr Paul Sabapathy CVO CBE, Amish Tripathi, Kala RamnathVittal Ramamurthy, Shubhendra Rao, Saskia Rao-de Haas, Shashank Subramanyam, Stephen Bryant and Julian Lloyd Webber[citation needed]

As a vocalist, she mainly sings in the Carnatic music genre. She also sung in Tamil, Hindi and Sanskrit, releasing albums in these languages.

Ramakrishnan is a native of Lalgudi and spent her childhood days in Chennai as a 10-year old and then to Iraq two years later with She has been living in the United Kingdom ever since her graduation from the Mangalore University, India[5]

Ramakrishnan holds an MBA in Human Resources and a PhD in Management from the US.[6]
