Overview[edit]

CoinField is a cryptocurrency exchange based out of Europe. The exchange was launched in 2018 and has expanded its reach to 186 countries worldwide.[1][2] It allows trade in more than 6 fiat and over 20 cryptocurrencies.[3][4]

History[edit]

CoinField started operations in April 2018 from Vancouver, Canada[5][6] and eventually moved its headquarters to Tallinn, Estonia.

The company’s initial founding team consisted of Bob Ras[7] and Raza Bashash. Before CoinField, Bob had several successful ventures in manufacturing, marketing, and technology industries while Reza, an engineer and founder of several tech companies, has experience working in Artificial Intelligence and FinTech industries for more than ten years.

During the past few years the number of users grew rapidly.[8][9] CoinField offers around 20 cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Stellar Lumens (XLM), Litecoin (LITC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), DigiByte (DGB), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), 0x (ZRX), Golem (GNT), OmiseGO (OMG), Augur (REP), Zilliqa (ZIL), Basic Attention Token (BAT), Salt (SALT), Tron (TRX), Civic (CVC), Loom Network (LOOM) and stablecoin USD Coin (USDC) & ZIL. Currently there are currently six fiat currency deposit and withdrawal options for CoinField customers. These are USD, EUR, CAD, GBP, AED and JPY.[10]

In February 2020, CoinField partnered with blockchain analysis company Chainalysis[11]. The partnership allowed CoinField to access the company’s Know-Your-Transaction (KYT) software[12], to prevent money laundering and to identify high-risk cryptocurrency transactions in real-time.[13][14] CoinField also backed Sologenic[15], a new crypto project [16]based on the XRP Ledger.[17] The Sologenic project [18] featured its Sologenic DEX, Sologenic platform and, the SOLO token.

Acquisitions[edit]

In September 2021, CoinField was acquired by Global Fintech Trading Limited ( GFT), a private company engaged in arranging and financing Fintech related acquisitions and investments on a global basis. This marked a period of evolution for CoinField along with changes in the management. CoinField’s acquisition also marked the separation of Sologenic as an individual entity.

CoinField’s tech team saw a change in the management with newly appointed CTO, Surya Chowdhury replacing Reza Bashash on the 12th October, 2021. Prior to CoinField, Mr. Chowdhury has overseen developments of fintech products and blockchain-related projects. He has been involved in several tech startups and served as a CEO at Autonomy International OU, an Estonia-based Fintech company. He has also held leadership roles at Shine Academy Solutions, and Goa Webdev Solutions, both of which are also IT startups based out of the United Kingdom.
