Prathaam Modi (known as Dimo Mähtarp) is an Indian DJ, record producer, film composer and songwriter who works independently with his collaborations (particularly in the Indie and Electronic music genre) and is also working on an American thriller documentary. He has published several tracks on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and many more. His most hit song "Mere" featuring Kushan Mon Bhuyan as his lead singer had gotten him recognition in many states of India and also countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and many others.

Dimo initially produced electronic dance music inspired by artists like Martin Garrix and The Chainsmokers, publishing his tracks on YouTube. He got really deep into exploring his musical interests and skills during the Covid-19 lockdown when he was staying at his home in Kathmandu, Nepal. Away from his college, isolated in his room studio, he went all the way producing all kinds of genres he could manage to understand and comprehend. He used his all time favorite DAW Fl Studio 20 and installed various plug-ins to work with on his music. After months of practice and understanding of the music dynamics, he decided to collaborate with a singer on an album called "Baatein" in September 2021. He released his album "Baatein" in October 2021 consisting of three tracks - Mere, Tere and Humare. Out of the three, Mere got comparatively more recognition with thousands of streams on Spotify.

Dimo Mähtarp was born in Patna, Bihar, on 3 August, 2000. His father was a merchant exporter and mother was a house-wife at the time. Mähtarp showed interest in musical keyboard since he was three. His parents got him toy keyboards to satisfy his musical needs to play the keys while they were staying in New Delhi, India.

They later moved to Bangalore, India in early 2008 and his father set up his business of selling embroidery machinery's parts. Dimo Mähtarp studied in Delhi Public School, Bangalore South. His brother was born during this time when Dimo was eight years old in 2008. Mähtarp didn't expose his music interest much in school and kept it to himself at the time. In 2014, he moved to Kathmandu, Nepal along with his family. He completed his ninth and tenth grade in Modern Indian School, Kathmandu. It is during this time when he got introduced to the world of Electronic Music and other genres such as house music, tropical music and hip-hop. He spent a lot of time with his first cousin, who made him listen to various electronic artists such Alesso, Kygo, Armin Van Burren and many other. Mähtarp was extremely inspired by the sounds their music carried and hence entered into the world of electronic music.

He moved to Chennai, Tamil Nadu to finish his high school studies. He studied in St. John's International Residential School. There he met people with various music tastes and skills and ended up learning guitar as well. He started producing around this time on a DAW he had installed on his PC called Fl Studio. He started experimenting the working of the software and released his first track - Carefree on YouTube featuring his senior in it. H e got a lot of positive response on it from his school mates and decided to make more music.

After completing his high school, he got admitted to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim in 2018 to complete his B. Tech degree. There he participated in a music festival his college organized annually called Kaalrav. He played a live DJ set for the first time during this festival and got a lot of positive response. This made him interested in DJing as well and hence he began to learn live mixing along with his music production as well. While he released many other tracks during this course of time he participated in Kaalrav the next year again and won the "DJ Battles" competition.

Ultimately, he decided to name himself "Dimo" as an artist name. Dimo is an anagram to his last name Modi, which was interestingly catching up well with his friends and colleagues.
