FirstStep
FirstStep[1] is an Australian micro-investment mobile app developed by a team working in conjunction with Sydney University Union Incubator[2]University of Sydney Union - INCUBATE. The app provides general education to retail clients and provides a platform to make investments according to their risk tolerance. The app works on the premise of dollar cost averaging of investments and provides clients access to exchange-traded funds. Research and reports done at the University of Sydney and work done at the Financial Literacy Foundation set up by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) highlight the level of understanding regarding general money management among the Australian public.[3][4][5] The FirstStep app is based to address issues young Australians highlight they face when investing.[6]
