History
FlowerAura was founded in 2010 by Himanshu Chawla, Shrey Sehgal, and Suman Patra, alumni of Netaji Subhas University of Technology. The company began as an online platform for flowers, cakes, and personalized gifts, operating from a basement in Gurugram with a small team. In its first year, it generated a revenue of ₹10 lakh.[5]
In November 2023, FA Gifts, the parent company of FlowerAura, secured $16 million in its first round of external funding from Faering Capital.[6]
In June 2024, The company launched ‘Flowers for Change’ campaign to support LGBTQ+ community.[7]
In 2023, FlowerAura collaborated with Tinder Mixers for a floral-themed event held in Hyderabad.[8] The same year, it partnered with Bombay Shaving Company for a campaign around International Men's Day.[9]
FlowerAura has also collaborated with delivery platforms such as Swiggy and Zomato to enhance the delivery & distribution network.[10]
In 2024, the company partnered with the Aravani Art Foundation to support transgender artists through a public art collaboration. The initiative aimed to promote through community-based art events.[11]
Operations
The company operates in over 600+ cities across India. It provides delivery through its own logistics network and vendor partnerships. In addition to its digital presence, FlowerAura has established retail outlets in several locations. In 2020, the company opened an additional store in Odisha in efforts to expand its offline presence. [12]
