GEMS World Academy Model United Nations
The GEMS World Academy Model United Nations is an annual Model United Nations conference based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates hosted by the GEMS World Academy. The conference is commonly referred to as GWAMUN, which is an acronym of the official name of the conference.[1] Although Model United Nations has common GEMS World Academy in Dubai for a long time, GWAMUN expanded into a larger series of conferences in 2020 and hosted a new chain of annual conferences for re-branding purposes.

The GEMS World Academy Model United Nations conference was officially established under GEMS Education, and the larger series of conferences was established in 2020. As per conference policy, the secretariat of the conference is appointed internally and from the group of GWA students, many of whom are students under the school's Geneva-based International Baccalaureate programs.[2]
In 2020, the conference appointed Ban Ki-Moon as its Official Ambassador[3] via the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens. The 2020 conference was led by a group of 7 Secretariat members internally appointed.
GWAMUN's 2021 conference, branded as the GWAMUN II, appointed 13 members to the Secretariat, each of whom is a student at the GEMS World Academy in Dubai.
