Gurgen Khachatryan (born November 23, 1983) is an Armenian entrepreneur, the co-founder of Galaxy Group of Companies[1] and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ucom.[2]
Biography[edit]
Gurgen Khachatryan has graduated from Yerevan State University and the Public Administration Academy of RA with specialization in law. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Gurgen has been managing Galaxy Group of Companies since 2006 and has also managed the operations of Ucom Telecommunications Operator and Yerevan Mall entertainment center since the day of establishment.[3] In 2019, he announced the construction of the Innovation and Technology Park in Yerevan.[4] The company managed by Gurgen Khachatryan supports the implementation of social projects in the spheres of education,[5] creative art[6] and classical music,[7] in addition to supporting start-up projects[8] and the translation of international scientific literature into Armenian, such as the Yuval Noah Harari’s book trilogy.[9]

Gurgen Khachatryan is the son of former RA Minister of Finance, Gagik Khachatryan.[10]
Ucom[edit]
The Khachatryan family is currently the largest shareholder of the company Ucom and according to media sources 89% of Ucom’s shares are pledged.[11]
